A Personal Note
One of you has just finished treatments.
I saw the spring in your step. I know you were
ecstatic that your "dark night" had passed, but
there was something else. You were different.
I saw a light in your eyes, a strength in your
voice that was not there before.
Thomas Moore says we do not choose a "dark night
of the soul." It is given to us. The challenge
for us is to sift it for its gold.
I chatted with a young Mom at the Mall
as she held the hands of her two young children.
Double mastectomy, she told me. Then added,
"It was the worst of times, and yet it was the
best of times."
"How so?" I asked.
"We live differently now. We love more deeply.
We enjoy each moment, each day.
And God is a loving reality to us."
Some of you are just entering your "dark night."
....My heart goes out to you.
Wherever you are, God is with you always.
Let Him spin his threads of gold in your soul.
You'll come out shining!
Blessings,
Angie
